We are pleased to announce that the Kerryman Newspaper are to be sponsor’s of the 2018 Kerry 100K & 50K Ultra Marathon. We would like to thank the Kerryman for their support.
Finishing a 50k or 100k may seem like a daunting task, and indeed if you think too much about the distance it will indeed become daunting. The key to finishing these events is to forget what you know about running long distance from marathons and to start a fresh with a tailor made training plan.
Training for your 50k or 100k should begin shortly. We will be uploading a weekly training schedule starting later this week, for training to begin next Monday. Following these plans will have you more than ready for your chosen challenge. The Born to Run Tralee Marathon Club’s 40 Mile Ultra will make for an idea long run for those taking on the 100k to practice what they will need to do on the big day, with their two person relay making for the same opportunity for those taking on the 50k.
The little steps of training each week will see you get strong and fitter and have you primed and ready for your event.
It has been a busy weekend of registrations as the number of people signing up for the Summer Solstice 10k has surged. There are limited places left, once they’re gone, they’re gone. There’s currently only about 50 places available. Sign up here to avoid disappointment.
